What we do
Food, water, and a conversation
A Gainesville outreach starts indoors. Volunteers meet, pack food and bottled water, and pray together. Then the team walks downtown in small groups and stops whenever somebody is willing to stop. Across both branches, since October 2025, that has added up to more than 2,800 meals and more than 3,000 bottles of water handed out.
Nothing is conditional. Nobody has to listen to anything to be handed a sandwich. The point of the food is that it is a real thing a real person needs, and it makes an honest conversation possible between two strangers on a sidewalk.
The reason the team keeps showing up is stated plainly in Matthew 25:40: Jesus explains to us: how we treat the least of our brothers and sisters in Christ, is how we treat Him. That is also why this page refuses to guess about another organization’s services — sending someone to a closed door is not serving them.
