Outreach at major events: Gasparilla and St. Pete Pride
Sharing the Gospel with love and dignity wherever people gather.
What event outreach means to us
Making Heaven Crowded has taken part in outreach during major events in Florida, including the Gasparilla Parade in Tampa. The team has also shared the Gospel during the St. Pete Pride Parade. In both places the aim is the same: to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love and dignity.
We believe every person is created in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion and love. That belief shapes how our team approaches anyone it meets, at a parade or on a quiet street. Our outreach begins with love.
Outreach at a Tampa tradition
The Gasparilla Parade in Tampa is one of the major events where Making Heaven Crowded has taken part in outreach. Our home base is Tampa, so showing up in the city we serve every week is a natural fit.
Event outreach is an extension of the same work described on our street evangelism in Tampa and Christian outreach in Tampa pages: listening, serving where we can and sharing the Gospel when someone is open to it.
Sharing the Gospel with love and dignity
Making Heaven Crowded also shared the Gospel during the St. Pete Pride Parade. We went to talk about Jesus Christ, not to argue, mock or attack anyone. Every person there is made in the image of God, and we want each one to be treated with dignity and love.
That is the standard we hold our volunteers to everywhere we go. New volunteers go out alongside experienced team members and are never sent out on their own. See the volunteer FAQ for what to expect.
Part of a larger mission
Event outreach is one part of what Making Heaven Crowded does. The team also serves people experiencing homelessness, reaches college students and young adults, and shares the Gospel online. You can read the whole story on our story or see our impact numbers.
Want to be part of it? Volunteer in Tampa, volunteer in Gainesville or send a prayer request. Gifts to support this work are welcome on the give page.
