Making Heaven Crowded was started by college students. The Gainesville branch is where University of Florida students walk downtown and share the Gospel themselves.

Making Heaven Crowded was founded in October 2025 by a group of college students in Tampa, Florida. It has grown from five volunteers to more than thirty, and opened a second ministry branch in Gainesville. That origin is not trivia — it is why the Gainesville team does not treat students as an audience to be programmed for.

If you are at the University of Florida and you have been looking for something more than another weekly meeting, this is the offer: come out on a Saturday, carry food, and talk to strangers about Jesus. You will be doing the ministry, not watching it.

MHC’s next generation outreach runs in both directions. College students and young adults are among the people the team sets out to reach — and they are also a large share of the people doing the reaching.

SENT Sessions

Nervous about talking to strangers? Good.

Almost everyone is, the first time. Nobody gets dropped downtown alone on day one — new volunteers go out with someone who has done it before, and the first outreach is mostly listening and handing out water.
