How MHC gets a Bible into someone’s hands
Making Heaven Crowded distributes Bibles in person, during street outreach in downtown Tampa and downtown Gainesville and through Next Gen Outreach to college students and young adults. A gift of $250 specifically funds “Bibles and materials for people taking their first steps” — it is one of the named ways a donation gets used, not a general fund. There is no mail-order request line; a Bible is given by a volunteer, in a conversation, to someone who wants one.
That is deliberate. The team is small and every branch is under two years old, so distribution stays tied to an actual relationship rather than a stack of Bibles left somewhere unattended.
Why a Bible, not just a conversation
The Great Commission does not end on the sidewalk
Matthew 28:18–20 is the passage MHC builds its whole mission around: “"Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’"”
This is the Great Commission. We are called to go and make disciples of ALL the nations.
“Teaching them to obey everything” is an ongoing relationship with Scripture, not a single exchange. A person who talks with a volunteer on a Saturday and wants to keep going needs something to keep going with after the team has already walked on to the next block. That is what the Bible is for — it is also why SENT Sessions opens with “Equipped by the Word.”

Two branches today, a wider vision for tomorrow
Making Heaven Crowded has ministry branches in Tampa and Gainesville, both founded since October 2025. Bible distribution happens inside the same outreach as the food and water — it is not a separate event with its own schedule. College students and young adults reached through college ministry for UF students and USF students receive Bibles the same way, as part of Next Gen Outreach.
The stated vision includes two commitments that describe where this is headed: to “equip future evangelists and missionaries” and to “expand the work of evangelism throughout florida & beyond.” Bible distribution grows the same direction the branches do — it is not planned as a statewide mailing effort, it follows wherever a team actually goes next.

- It is how MHC follows up when someone responds to the Gospel during outreach in Tampa or Gainesville. A person who wants to take a first step of faith, or a college student going deeper in their walk through Next Gen Outreach, is given a Bible rather than just a conversation. A $250 gift specifically funds Bibles and materials for people taking their first steps.
- How do I get a Bible from Making Heaven Crowded?
- MHC does not run a mail-order Bible request line. Bibles are handed out in person, usually during a street outreach in downtown Tampa or downtown Gainesville, or through the Next Gen Outreach to college students and young adults. - Can I donate Bibles instead of money?
- MHC does not operate a public drop box for any donation, Bibles included. Email or call the team first and they will arrange a time and place, the same way item and water donations are handled for the outreach.
- Why does the team give out a physical Bible instead of just preaching?
- Because the Great Commission does not stop at a conversation. Matthew 28:18-20 tells believers to make disciples "teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" -- that is an ongoing relationship with Scripture, not one exchange on a sidewalk. A Bible is what lets someone keep going after the team has walked on to the next block.
