Missions and evangelism is the part of Making Heaven Crowded that builds capacity rather than running this week’s outreach: Training disciples through SENT Sessions, establishing new ministry branches, and expanding the work throughout Florida and beyond. Your gift sends the next team out.
It is the least visible of the three giving buckets and the one that decides whether there is a third branch in two years or still only two. Street outreach feeds people now. Next generation outreach reaches students now. Missions pays for the people who will do both in a city nobody has walked yet.
Making Heaven Crowded was founded in October 2025 in Tampa and opened a Gainesville branch in the same stretch, growing from five volunteers to more than thirty. That is the pattern the missions bucket is trying to repeat.

MHC's evangelism training initiative, designed to equip disciples with the biblical knowledge, practical skills, and confidence necessary to proclaim the Gospel.

Our desire is for those who participate to not only learn about evangelism but to actively live as disciples who are willing to go.
In practice that runs city by city: evangelism training in Tampa and evangelism training in Gainesville. The wider formation behind all of it is covered on discipleship training in Florida.

The mandate underneath all eight of those is Matthew 28:18–20: This is the Great Commission. We are called to go and make disciples of ALL the nations. A branch in a second city is not an expansion strategy so much as the plain reading of that instruction.
Today the two branches walk downtown Tampa and downtown Gainesville, run homeless outreach in Tampa and Gainesville, and reach students through college ministry for USF students and UF students.

- Homeless outreach
- We walk the streets of downtown Tampa and Gainesville with food, and the food is what starts the conversation. Your gift buys the meals we hand to people the rest of the city walks past.
- Next generation outreach
- College students and young adults are hungry for something true. Gifts here fund the outreach, the Bibles and the materials that meet them where they already are.
- Missions and evangelism
- Training disciples through SENT Sessions, establishing new ministry branches, and expanding the work throughout Florida and beyond. Your gift sends the next team out.
